What happened
- Sky Gold said its subsidiary Starmangalsutra Pvt Ltd lost Rs 10.70 crore after unknown persons gained access to an employee’s company-issued phone and laptop, impersonated a subsidiary director using “deep-fake methodologies like profile cloning & coercion”, and the employee made transfers to unknown accounts. The company says its IT systems, network, customer and employee data were not compromised.
